Enterprise – University Virtual Placements

The EU-VIP project aims to enhance international work placements through the use of new technologies.
Work placements can play an important role in the knowledge transfer between higher education institutions and the business community. In a global economy it is also becoming more and more important to introduce students to an international working environment during their education. When students do go abroad for a work placements, the integration of this placements in the curriculum is not always optimal. Furthermore, there are also students who, for financial, geographical or social reasons, do not have the possibility to go abroad.

The EU-VIP project will design models and services for:

  • virtual mobility activities to prepare students for a stay abroad and to sustain the experience after they return
  • fully virtual placements.

In this project 16 partners from 8 different countries work together. To ensure the success of the project all target groups are represented: the consortium is composed of higher education institutions and European not-for-profit associations of universities, businesses and students.

The partners: Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (BE) (project coordinator), University of Bologna (IT), Aalto University (FI), University of Turku (FI), West Pomerania Business School (PL), FernUniversität in Hagen (DE), Laurea University of Applied Sciences (FI), EAL TietgenSkolen (DK), Katholieke Hogeschool Leuven (BE), University of Padova (IT), University of Groningen (NL), EADTU (NL), Coimbra Group (BE), EuroPACE ivzw (BE), EFMD (BE), BEST (FR).
